Andrew Cheng (New York, USA)
Hailing from the island of Borneo in Malaysia, New York City based guitarist Andrew Cheng weaves his free form sense of melody and dynamic touch through various styles and diverse projects. His sound has been described as a blend of modern jazz, indie rock and ethnic melodies. Graduating from Berklee College of Music, he moved to Brooklyn in 2017 and has performed frequently at various clubs around the city. With frequent collaborator, pianist/singer Julian Moreen, he has toured several countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany and Switzerland. Andrew is also featured as guitarist on Julian’s upcoming album. Andrew is a fixture in renowned Carnatic singer/violinist RINI’s band, where he executes virtuosic Indian melodies and complex rhythms fused with electronica. Together they have toured the East Coast, opening for Sunny Jain’s brainchild Red Baraat. They have also toured India as well as giving several masterclasses and performed at distinguished venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. In addition, Andrew also acts as Musical Director for several artists in the Chinese music world when they perform in the US, including TVB singers 鄭俊弘 Fred Cheng, 蘇永康 William So, 何雁詩 Stephanie Ho, as well as legendary Taiwanese artists such as You Ya and 萬芳 Wan Fang.

Julian Moreen is a singer, pianist, songwriter and music producer from Germany in the field of jazz, pop and folk music. As a leader and as an in-demand sideman, he has toured in Europe, the United States and Asia and performed at festivals such as
Jazz Open Festival, Germany (opening up British pop stars Jorjia Smith and Celeste as well as American legend Suzanne Vega)

and at universities such as: Harvard University (Cambridge), Columbia University (New York), 國立臺 南藝術大學 (Tainan), 東華 (Hualien), 中國醫藥大學 (Taichung), 輔仁大學 (Taipei) and 南臺科 技大學 (Tainan).
As a music producer and songwriter, he works in a wider range of styles, such as the writing and production for Taiwanese indie pop singer Mandark (Single: I miss You When I’m Drunk) and Slovak folk-jazz singer Ester Wiesnerova.
As an educator, he has given masterclasses at many universities and is currently a remote lecturer at the Insititute of Elderly Learning at Brandeis University in Boston, USA.
He has appeared in TV and Radio including 愛樂電台 Philharmonic Radio Taipei 99.7 in Taiwan, BFM: The Business Station 89.9 in Malaysia, Tea FM in Malaysia, Viva Radio 99.3 and TV Telerano in Slovakia.
He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music (2017)
