Questions:

How long is one lesson?

One lesson is 50 minutes. The reason is that I need 10 minutes in between each lesson so that there is no overlap with other students.

With which video call platform do you teach?

My preferred video platform is Zoom. But any other common platform (Skype, Facetime…) is also possible.

Do you offer a free introductory lesson?

Yes, the first lesson is free! This lesson is meant to get to know each other and see if we are both a good fit. I will introduce you to my style of teaching, see where you are and discuss your goals and next steps. This lesson will take around 30-50 mins.

*What is Covid-Hardship pricing?

Due to the pandemic, many people have fallen into difficult financial hardship. I’m sure I don’t need to mention that self-employed artists such as myself are among those people. But of course we’re not the only ones and therefore, I’m offering this hardship discount: If you’re in financial trouble due to the pandemic, I offer any lesson (piano, vocals…) for as much as you can, but not less than 25 Euro. No need for proof, just let me know if you like to use the discount and you got it. If times are better, just let me know that you want to switch back to the normal price. If times get worse again, also let me know. I’ll trust that you only make use of this discount if you really need it.

Why are vocal lessons cheaper than the others?

There is two reasons for this: Composition, Theory and Songwriting lessons take far more preparation time if done right and since I want to provide you with a great lesson, I do spend considerable time before we even meet. Piano and Improvisation lessons are priced higher since this is specifically in what I have my degree from Berklee College of Music. My background in vocal studies lies in many years of private lessons with some of the best teachers as well as a two-year study at the vocal academy VoiceLab with one of Germany’s top vocal coaches.

How are lesson paid?

Many payment options are available such as bank transfer in several currencies, PayPal and others.

In meinem Studio in der Weststadt in Heidelberg, bei dir zu Hause oder auch per Videokonferenz unterrichte ich Klavier, Gesang, Komposition und Songwriting an Schüler jeden Alter und Levels. Durch meine langjährige Erfahrung als Musiker und Lehrer ist es meine Leidenschaft geworden, die Kreativität und Vorstellungskraft meiner Studenten zu inspirieren und ihre Musikalität ganz individuell zu fördern. Short Introduction

Ich bin 27 Jahre alt und erst kürzlich nach fünf Jahren in den USA als Student am Berklee College of Music in Boston sowie einem einjährigen Aufenthalt in New York nach Heidelberg gezogen. Als Berufsmusiker mit jahrzehntelanger Konzert-, Tournee und Studioerfahrung in Europa, Amerika und Asien sammelte ich das nötige praktische Know-how. Daneben war stets die pädagogische Arbeit eine große Leidenschaft von mir. Noch als Schüler im Gymnasium übernahm ich die Leitung der Jazz-AG meiner Schule und unterrichtete junge Schüler verschiedenster Instrumente in Improvisation, Zusammenspiel und Kreativität. Als Klavierlehrer arbeitete ich viele Jahre privat und an Schulen in New York, Boston und in meiner Heimatstadt Lörrach. Als Gastdozent gab ich Meisterklassen und Vorträge an Universitäten und Schulen in Taiwan, Malaysia und Singapur.

Teaching Method

Nach einem ersten Kennenlernen erstelle ich einen individuellen Unterrichtsplan, welcher den musikalischen Geschmack, das Alter, die Ziele und die verfügbare Zeit des Schülers berücksichtigt. Ob einfach nur als Hobby, die ersten Schritte am Instrument oder für die Vorbereitung zu einem Konzert oder einer Prüfung, mein Unterricht richtet sich nach deinen Bedürfnissen.

Folgende Möglichkeiten bietet mein Unterricht:

• Klavier in den Stilen Jazz, Pop, Musical, Latin, Improvisation (Anfänger bis Profi) und Klassik (Anfänger bis Fortgeschrittene)

• Gesang + Klavier: Verbessere deine Gesangstechnik und Interpretation und lerne, dich selbst am Klavier zu begleiten

• Songwriting/Komposition: Entfalte deine Kreativität, finde deinen eigenen Stil, schreibe deine eigenen Songs, lerne sie zu notieren und falls gewünscht sogar professionelle Demos aufzunehmen.
